Midnight Otaku Block

May 1st, 2007

It’s going to be like looking in a mirror. For our late night programming, we’re pleased to announce a couple of titles about Otaku will be playing. Two titles lovingly mocking Anime fandom, Otaku no Video and the fan-made parody This is Otakudom will be playing during our special Midnight Otaku Block. There’s also going to be a surprise or two during this block, so don’t miss it.

Both Otaku no Video and This is Otakudom are fan-favorites and beloved by all who have seen them, so these two titles are required viewing for Anime fans!

Great Brattle Anime!

April 23rd, 2007

It’s time to announce another confirmed title for our upcoming Brattle Royale! Great Teacher Onizuka has made our growing list of titles. If you’ve seen this anime, then chances are it’s one of your favorites.

I’d like to thank everyone who came by our booth this weekend at Anime Boston. We’re happy seeing old friends again and making new ones as well.

Nerima Daikon Brothers to screen at TBAF

April 16th, 2007

We have a new title to announce this week, Nerima Daikon Brothers. From the mind of the creator of Excel Saga, director wataNABE SHINichi brings us this return to his non-sequitur off-the-wall humor. This is one of my favorite new titles and I’m very excited to be bringing it to the Brattle Screen. I hope you like singing, because that’s what about 90% of the dialogue in this show is.

Don’t forget to come visit us this weekend (April 20-April 22) in the Anime Boston Dealer Room. We’re at table 317 and if you pre-register with us there, you’ll get $15 off the door price and a free t-shirt from TBAF2.

Title Announcement

April 9th, 2007

We’re pleased to announce our next title for Brattle Royale. We’ll be screening episodes 5, 25 and 26 of the hugely popular and now-classic Cowboy Bebop. We’ve taken these three pivotal episodes and named them The Real Folk Blues. Not too original, certainly, since that’s the title of the last two episodes, but it certainly fits.

Cowboy Bebop has been received tremendously by our audience each time we’ve screened it, but this time we are bringing you what I consider its best episode and the final two episodes that brings this series to one of the greatest finalies of all time.

Brattle Royale

April 2nd, 2007

The Brattle Anime Festival is proud to announce Brattle Royale, a 24-hour marathon of classic and cutting edge Animation from Japan.

We’ve updated our main webpage with lots of new information, so be sure to give it a visit.

Some big news is we’ve announced some four titles that will be screened. We’ve confirmed Eureka Seven, Gantz, Tenchi Muyo and Azumanga Daioh!

Also, be sure to visit us in the Dealer’s Room at Anime Boston to get a special rate of $15 off the door price!

We’ll be making lots of announcements up until June 2, so be sure to visit at least once a week for the latest TBAF news!
