Miyazaki Weekend at the Brattle
This weekend (Friday through Monday) at the Brattle, they’re screening the two most recent feature films by maestro Hayao Miyazaki. The academy award winning Spirited Away and what I consider to be his masterpiece, Howl’s Moving Castle, which is both a self-portrait of Miyazaki and a snapshot of 2004 Japan as well as a wonderful adaptation of the fantasy novel by Diane Wynne Jones.
